Kathmandu: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has stated that the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) will be held after the lockdown. According to the existing law, the SEE will get legal recognition only from the written examination.

Due to the corona virus (Covid-19), the SEE examination scheduled for March 22 was postponed the previous evening. Since then, people’s representatives and experts have been telling SEE to take a different approach. The ministry clarified this after creating confusion among the students.

“It is understood that students and parents are confused about the issue of conducting SEE examination through internal assessment,” said Deepak Sharma, joint secretary and spokesperson of the ministry. Recognition of SEE through internal evaluation is possible only if the Act is amended before then. We (the ministry) have not reached that point, ”he said in a webinar organized by the Education Journalists Network (EJON) on Sunday.

Chairman of the National Examination Board Chandra Mani Poudel said that SEE and other examinations would be held two weeks after the lockdown. “According to the existing law, the preparation for the SEE exam will proceed from where it was stopped,” Poudel said, adding that the exam would not be given importance as it would endanger lives in the Corona epidemic. Stay tuned. ” Chairman Poudel said that he understood the situation of the examination boards of 144 countries and 73 of them had postponed the examinations.

According to the records of the board, 4 lakh 82 thousand 7 hundred and seven people are preparing to give SEE this year. 1,997 examination centers have been expanded across the country. The question papers have been kept safe at the police post near the center. Controller of Examinations Ram Raj Khakurel said that there is a plan to add 727 centers so that no candidate has to stay in a dormitory.

“There is a problem for the candidates in hilly and mountainous areas,” said the controller. It is stated. Controller Khakurel said that the results will be published within 45 days of the completion of the examination.
